Supporting a loved one in eating disorder recovery can be immensely challenging, especially if you feel under-resourced with knowledge and skills. This workshop offers the education, skills, and support you need to feel empowered and help your loved one heal. You will gain knowledge of eating disorders and important markers for recovery, leave with practical tools, and have a safe space to share experiences and get support.

What to Expect from our Caregiver & Parent Workshops:

🍏 Understand eating disorders: Learn to about your loved one’s eating disorder, including warning signs, symptoms, behaviors to look out for, and what the recovery process is like. This will give you a bird’s eye view of what to expect and arm you with the knowledge you need to support.

🌿 Cultivate successful meals: Learn valuable insights and skills to transform mealtimes from a battle zone to peaceful wins. You’ll learn about the kind of structure that needs to be in place for effective meals and enhance your skills to navigate challenges that arise.

🌈 Decrease emotional distress: For both you and your loved one. Recovery can be an uphill battle for many, often feeling harder before it becomes easier. It’s common for there to be resistance along the way. This workshop will educate you and equip you with skills to regulate your emotions and respond differently to your loved one, thereby regulating their emotional distress and easing the recovery process.

🧘 Address body related issues: This workshop will educate on how weight and medical goals are set, how they impact psychological recovery, and how you can respond to challenges along the way, such as body image concerns.

🤝 Caregiver and community Support: Connect with caregivers and parents on a similar journey. Share experiences, insights, and support as you navigate the path to intuitive eating together. Prioritize self care in order to prevent burnout.

  • Workshops happen monthly on the second Thursday at noon.

  • Workshops are open to parents and caregivers with a loved one in eating disorder recovery.

  • Yes! You can attend as many as you like. The course material will rotate through every six months, however, the individuals in the workshops may be different. You might get something new out of each workshop you attend.

  • No, this is a space reserved just for parents and caregivers.

  • Possibly. Start with an initial consult to see if the workshop is right for you.

  • These are intimate spaces, usually no more than 10 people per workshop.
