Erika Bent, LMFT, LPCC, CEDS-S (She/Her/Hers)
Founder, Psychotherapist
After recovering from a life-threatening illness, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery that helped me identify the values that inspired meaning in my life. I learned to shed myself of behaviors and mindsets that were leading me astray from those values. It was through this process that I grew to cherish introspection, mindfulness, and self-trust, which have shaped my career as a psychotherapist. I love helping others find their own transformation through our work together, and I feel honored to connect with my clients in a deeply moving and meaningful way.
Through my clinical experience, I have worked closely with teens and families and have developed an affinity for this work. I am sincerely passionate about helping families move beyond conflict, cope with illness and stress, and develop healthier patterns of communication. I know how hard it is to find mental healthcare that is trustworthy and effective. I’ve seen firsthand the value of families healing together for a loved one’s recovery, and the importance of a skilled treatment team. My goal is to meet each client and family where they are and join together with them through every step of the process.
I use strengths-based and holistic treatments, meaning I draw from different therapeutic modalities based on the needs of each individual client and family. These are the methods I have found to be the most successful in treating my clients: Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and mindfulness-based techniques.
Training & Clinical Experience
Prior to launching CWC, I served as the Director of Clinical Operations at The Healthy Teen Project in San Francisco, CA. My clinical experience spans a wide range of inpatient and outpatient settings where I have gained expertise in the treatment of adolescents and adults with eating disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, body image and self-esteem, and family dynamics. I am trained in Family-Based Treatment (FBT) by the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders and a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Supervisor with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
More recently, I have trained in Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and psychedelic integration. KAP has profound healing potential to transform traditional talk therapy. By integrating ketamine into the therapeutic process, clients achieve deeper levels of healing and personal growth. My commitment is to utilize this innovative approach to support clients in overcoming challenges and enhancing their overall well-being.
